NEW Exhibition: Market Days — Rosie McGuinness

This April, we are thrilled to welcome Market Days, a new series of paintings by Lewisham born and Deptford local, artist and textile print designer Rosie McGuinness.

Working on papers sourced from Deptford Market, Rosie’s pieces bring together figures, domestic objects and organic pattern. Her work is rooted in observation and intuition, created at pace using materials that carry their own histories. The compositions feel feminine and expressive — gentle yet bold — with a quiet familiarity shaped by the rhythms and textures of everyday life.

This exhibition feels particularly special for us.

Rosie has been part of the Klose & Soan community for years — from the early days of our lockdown meal deliveries to becoming a familiar and so very welcome energy in the restaurant. It’s been a beautiful, blossoming connection, built over time.

To now have her work on our walls feels like a continuation of that relationship, something truly genuine, supportive, and rooted in community.

Market Days will be on view in our front room throughout April and May, holding the space alongside dinner service, wine, and the continuous rhythms of the space.

You’re always welcome to come in, spend some time with the work, possibly stay for a glass of something — or a plate or two — if you feel drawn to. Whatever your vibe we’d love to share this exhibtion with you.
